The guys at Federal ammo put together this video. They’re shooting into ballistics gel which is supposed to mimic the density of game flesh. They even went as far as putting hides over the gel blocks and putting game bones in the gel, too.
The video is pretty awesome. If you’ve ever imagined your bullet flying through your game in a nice clean tunnel, this video will remove that thought from your mind. A quality bullet will give you pretty serious stopping power with a well-placed shot.
If you’re like me, you need the advice of an expert when picking out ammo. A good rule of thumb is that you’ll mostly get what you pay for. If you’re having less than perfect results with cheap ammo, you might want to consider graduating to a higher quality round.
